Map Location

Located in foothills of the mountains of the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica between Jaco Beach and Manuel Antonio this property is located between two major tourist attractions. 12km or 8 miles off the pacific highway, “Costanera”, there is easy access to Jaco about 40 minutes north, Quepos and Manuel Antonio 30 minutes south and the beach 10 minutes west.

Water and Utilities

Spring water is available from at least 5 sources, electricity at the street, and high speed wireless internet is available.

Roads and Drainage

The internal roads underwent extensive maintenance and improvements with drainage systems installed and have been stable for over three years. The entrance connecting the public roads had to be built, gravel has been put down and compacted.

Wildlife

This property used to be a cattle farm and as the owner aged he stopped using the farther sections, the land has been unused now for many years. This left the forest and native animals to return and live undisturbed. We see Morpho butterflies every time and have seen endangered frogs, lizards, Coatis, Spider Monkeys, Capuchin Monkeys, Toucans, Scarlet McCaws, Jaguarundi, and others. We saw the mama sloth and her baby only once, of course we named her Sidney and her baby Sid and are always on the lookout for them.

Main Terrace and Water source

After we met with the government officials they strongly suggested that we develop the property as an ecological resort. We built a water system that captures water from one of the 5 known water sources and cut 5 lots for rental cabins.

Mountain and Ocean Views

The best use for this property is an ecological resort. With great views and privacy while less than an hour to beaches and some of the most popular Costa Rican sights, including Jaco Beach, Herradura, Playa Hermosa, Pez Vela Marina at Quepos, and Manuel Antonio National Park.

Due to the pandemic and my parents failing health we had to leave before building the first rental cabin on the Main Terrace. We can offer construction support for short periods of time, and have local contacts for tractors and/or labor. Our local supervisor has agreed to work for a month to familiarize the new owner with the land.
